5 Comfy Habits For a Cozy Evening On a Cold Night
Autumn and winter are the seasons of cozy evenings, warm recipes, happy moments shared with friends and family, and above everything, the seasons to snuggle on your sofa wrapped in your favorite blanket and read a good book.
The perfect way to welcome them is to turn within and welcome the colder times with cozy evenings to warm up and relax.
Here are my favorite autumn/winter habits for the perfect cozy evening.
1. A Warm and Cozy drink
I’m a hot beverage addict. I drink way too much coffee and hot chocolate. Anyone who ever comes to my house will always find me with a steaming cup in hand. I have a long list of hot drinks recipes that I get out whenever September first shows up. It’s an annual ritual.
Why?
Because cozy drinks are the perfect way to come back to yourself, to slow down, and embrace the comfort of the moment while warming up.
2. Comfy clothes
What better way to spend a cozy evening if not by putting on your favorite comfy clothes. I just love snuggling in my favorite sweater – it’s a really old thing that used to belong to my mother back when she was a teen, and it’s so well loved that I never feel better than when I’m wearing it. (Truly this ugly sweater it’s my absolute favorite item in my whole life, so much so that whenever I’m having a bad day, even during the summer, I’ll just pick it up and wrap myself in it.
Oh, and fuzzy socks are also a favorite of mine. The more ridiculous they are, the better.
3. Seasonal recipes
What screams coziness better than pumpkin recipes. I am a definite autumn girl, and I’m sure the main reason why is because of the food. All my favorite recipes are autumn food; either baked goods, soups, or dinners. So whoever I plan to nurture myself with a particularly cozy and comfy evening, I’ll go grocery shopping beforehand with this in mind, and once home, I’ll bake myself pumpkin muffins, or pumpkin bread. Because if I’m having a cozy drink, there’s no way I’m not treating myself to the baked goods to go with it.
4. A good Book
Now that I have my baked goods and my warm drinks ready, I need my book. For me, the most cozy books are always middle-grade ones, I don’t know why. Perhaps there’s something about fantasy and middle grade and magical realism that fits the colder seasons better than other seasons.
5. Music
Food, done. Book, done. Now comes music. I never do anything without music. I always have Spotify playing in the background, and a cozy evening is no exception, quite the opposite really. For a cozy autumn evening, I’ll turn to autumn oldies and jazz They’re something atmospheric about these decades-old tunes, whether it’s Sinatra, King, Crosby, or Vaughn, that just makes them absolutely perfect as a background ambience when I’m aiming for a particularly cozy time.
So that’s it. Here are my cozy habits for cozy autumn evenings.

I wish you a happy and wonderful day. Remember to treat yourself, be kind to yourself. You deserve it.
