7-Day Fall Self-Care Challenge (Cozy Habits to Embrace Autumn)
Fall is the season of all things cozy and warm. Summer ends and the leaves turn, the air gets crisp, and life naturally slows down a little. It’s truly the perfect time to nurture yourself with a fall self-care challenge filled with cozy activities perfect to enjoy yourself.
I have designed this 7-Day Fall Self-Care Challenge to help you embrace the season and all its joys as it rolls around, all with simple daily self-care habits to help you enjoy a cozy and warmth-filled autumn.
If you decide to join this challenge, then each day of the next week will include one cozy (and easily doable) self-care activity to help you nurture yourself and make your autumn more restful and warm.
This autumn challenge will help you spend some time every day caring for yourself, slowing down, and practicing simple self-care rituals to welcome the season and make the most of it.

How this Fall Self-Care Challenge Works
This challenge is designed to be simple to follow every day, no matter how busy your life is (which it can certainly get as the new year rolls around, and school starts again).
So how does it work then?
- One simple cozy activity per day: Each habit is a simple self-care practice that can easily be adapted to your schedule, no matter how busy it is.
- Focus on being present: The key to enjoying yourself and embracing the moment is being present. So when you engage in the day’s activity, slow down and try to be in the present moment as much as possible.
- Enjoy yourself: Again, the point of this challenge is to enjoy and take care of yourself so don’t hesitate to tweak things to make them more pleasurable for you, and enhance this fall self-care challenge’s experience.
The 7-Day Fall Self-Care Challenge
So let’s take a look at what this fall self-care challenge entails, shall we?

Day 1: Take a Mindful Nature Walk
Let’s start the week with nature.
Step outside and notice the colors and turning of the leaves (depending on where you live and if nature has already reached that point), the crisp air, and the sounds of autumn. Take a moment to pay attention to how your body feels as you walk, and the little things that are happening around you.
A mindful nature walk is a simple practice that can ground you in the present moment and helps release stress while enjoying a pretty scenery.
This walk doesn’t have to be a long one – especially if your schedule is packed and you don’t have much time. In this case, then even just going outside and getting some fresh air for 10 minutes can help refresh and clear your mind. (I know that I personally always feel clearer minded after I’ve spent some time outside, even if I don’t have time to go for a nature walk.)
And if you have time, try to go over to your favourite spot or park, or even to a hike in the forest.

Day 2: Enjoy A Cozy Fall Drink
What would fall be without all its heartwarming and cozy drinks?
There are so many wonderful options out there. From your famous pumpkin spice latte to chai latte, to apple cider and maple hot chocolate, etc… just so many savours and possibilities. (And they’re always the perfect treat to relax and enjoy yourself, aren’t they?)
You can either go to your favourite coffee shop or prepare it at home (I’d recommend the latter because you can make it a mindful activity, then relax on your couch, snuggle with a cozy plaid and a good book or something to watch. But you do you – again, the key of this challenge is to enjoy yourself during the week after all.)

Day 3: A Digital Detox Evening
Digital detox time is always a top self-care habit to silence and settle the mind as well as slow down and relax.
This evening, unplug from your phone and social media and laptop and whatever else. Turn off everything and spend time on a cozy activity instead: light a candle, read a book, cook, or even go for a walk once again (why not? walking in the evening is always nice and relaxing). Or you can even go ahead and create some autumn art.
Whatever you opt for, doing a digital pause is always good to reduce most of the mental clutter and encourage a more peaceful, restful evening then night.
Day 4: Watching a Fall Movie (or series)
What is more perfect than an autumn evening spent snuggling on the couch watching something fall-themed?
Make a whole evening out of it if you want. Choose what you want to watch, and of course this can be anything: a movie, a series, an old favourite or something new. Then bring on your favourite snacks and beverages, as well as cozy pyjamas and a plaid to snuggle with.

Day 5: Cook a Comforting Fall Meal (or Treat)
Autumn is truly the season of the most comforting foods (in my humble opinion).
But fall is the season of so many delicious seasonal foods: from squashes and other root vegetables, to apples and maple and so many more things.
So today’s activity is to cook a warm, comforting meal – or bake yourself a treat – using seasonal ingredients. Once again, you do you and go for what feels good to you today, and what inspires you.

Plus a nice bonus is that cooking and baking always fills your home with all these delightful aromas that just enhance the autumn vibe and make your house even more cozy.

Day 6: A Favourite Fall Activity
Today’s challenge is a bit different from the others because you get to choose what it’ll be. It’s entirely up to you.
Fall offers so many fun activities, and everyone has a favourite one. So today, you get to pick something that you’d like to do.
You can choose something new that you’d like to try, or something you’re already familiar with and enjoy doing. Something outdoorsy, or a more domestic activity. It can be anything you want.

Day 7: Embrace the small joys of autumn
Today might be your last day and this challenge comes to a close but that doesn’t mean you should stop embracing all the small joys fall brings.
As you have probably noticed, this week didn’t include outdoor activities.
Why? Because incorporating apple picking, corn mazes, pumpkin patches, fall festivals, hayrides, etc…into a challenge like this one is difficult. There are weekdays and busy schedules and what is actually locally available where you live to take into account. But that doesn’t mean they shouldn’t be included anyway and you shouldn’t have fun with them.
Make a list of your favourite fall outdoor activities – as well as all the other things you love most about autumn: foods, seasonal movies or books, indoor activities, etc…
Then turn this into your fall bucket list for this year. Try to do as many of these things once the challenge’s over (as much as you can afford to: time and money wise). Again – and I know I’m repeating myself here – the key is not to create more stress but to enjoy yourself and make the most of the season.
